The grieving father was not sure how he was going to feed his son because he was not able to readily obtain breastmilk. He was then approached by a friend of the family who was still nursing her one year old daughter and she offered to nurse his son. The astute father agreed and then a number of other women in the community worked together to come up with a nursing schedule and they all take turns feeding little Moses.
According to The Mining Journal:
“”These women are advocates of breast feeding,” [the father] said.
A schedule was put together with feeding times at 9 a.m., noon, 1:30 , 4 , 6:30 and 8 p.m. Six times a day a different mother has been feeding Moses for the past two months. During the night, [dad] bottle-feeds his son breast milk that was pumped by the women.
“What amazes me is they are so committed,” Fraire [the original donor] said. “They would do it for anyone because they believe in this. They didn’t take it lightly and they don’t miss a day.”
[Dad] added: “It’s commitment, passion – it’s love. It’s an act of love.”
What these women are doing “is an example of group cross-nursing,” [dad] explained. “It’s organized. That’s what you don’t find anymore.”"
This is an incredible, inspiring story of community and the commitment to breastfeed. I can only hope that something like this could happen for Bianca if something were to happen to me.

Bravo, it is always so impressive to se what a community can and will do when called upon.
In times like this when we have global credit crisis and global warming, it is nice to hear such community spirit … and love!

Very inspirational story – It is awesome the way people can come together.
It stories like this that remind us that with all the bad things and ignorance we hear about every day there are still genuinely nice people out there.
Good Post.
the gol in life for all is to leave the world like the golf course one less divot than when you got there. Great Story
That is a very touching story. I hope the best for this child, but I also hope that it grows up realising that not all the women around are his mother. Confusion can be a big problem in young children. Fantastic story.
That family is really lucky to have all those dedicated women in their lives. I can only wish them all the best and hope that more people will learn to be so giving from this example.
It was truly outstanding keep it the good work going…
Can i ask something, is the disorder of the child is x link or y link disorder? By the way thanks for sharing your experiences as a nurse.
Such a great work for this community very touching story, I hope to see more people or group who are willing to help others without selfish desire and asking for something in return. Good job for those women who take turns to feed the child Keep up the good work.
That’s a very touching story! Its a way of showing their selfless love for any child in need.
As beautiful as that story is, there’s also something kind of icky about it. I’m glad the baby was able to be able to be fed though.

These kind of stories restores faith in humanity. A lot of bad stuff happens but these acts of kindness are what make me keep going.
I am a big fan of the twilight saga and this post amazed me.. Such a lot of words and it even have bella in it, werewold and vampire… But necrophilia? Bestiality? Whoa! Awesome man! haha!
Thank you for sharing one of your many personal stories. I thought i knew about this but it goes to show you can always learn if you are open to it, the way you have shared your knowledge has really opened my eyes, to seeing in a new way. thanks with regard to providing us inspiring info.
OMG that is a cool story. I have heard similar stories in the past. I even remember hearing of a story where a cat was nursing from a dog (weird, I know).

This is an incredible story. I love to see communities pulling together!
Very beautiful and touching story!
As eager as they are for a fight with the White House, Republican budget cutters have a problem in their own back pasture: what to do about a system of farm subsidies that’s still pumping billions into GOP districts at a time of record income for producers.
What a touching and inspiring story! I am a firm believer of breastfeeding. I breastfed my 2 kids until they were 2. I had a lot of difficulty with my firstborn, what with my complete lack of experience with latching, but thankfully we eventually got the hang of things. So I had an easier time with my second child. As well, that was when I discovered the wonders of donating breastmilk. Since my youngest was 6 months old (she’s now 1 1/2), I have been donating breastmilk to one of the hospitals near our neighborhood. It is such an awesome feeling to be able to help in this way.
Great story, it is nice that some people are still helping each other
