Hi, I'm Sheryl (nice to meet you)
My name is Sheryl and I am the president and owner of A Much Better Way and Betterra.com. I started AMBW in 2005 after Brielle was born in a crappy hospital birth that started me on a quest for natural health, attachment parenting and an earth friendly lifestyle.
In 2008, shortly before Bianca was born, despite being exceptionally poor, I scraped together a tiny tax return, bought some inventory and started an ecommerce store that specialized in products for natural family living.
The store grew over the next few years until it could not fit in my home any more and we obtained office space in January of 2011 with hopes to expand our product lines and sales channels in the near future.
This blog is a compilation of my personal life and opinions as a domestic violence survivor, feminist, humanist, lactivist, intactivist, breastfeeding, babywearing, cosleeping, EC and cloth diapering, nonvaccinating, unassisted childbirthing, unschooling, going green, simple living, animal loving, entrepreneur, retail store owner, single mother of two little girls.
I changed the blog name to The Happy Deucer (from A Much Better Blog) because The Happy Deucer is a fun nickname based on a weird Ocean Drive cameo and I thought “A Much Better Blog” while nice branding, was simply pompous (and I am anything but pompous).
